This project started at the beginning of May and is now complete! It was a long time getting here from concept to reality. I had a vision in my mind and really wanted it to come to fruition.

Remember, this was just empty space. Nothing was here. I needed a covered area on the patio because the sun wasn’t very forgiving. What I love most about the gazebo is that it feels custom. I was able to add 2 privacy walls and a bar countertop. The gazebo is pretty spacious - 12ft x 12ft. I originally wanted a larger one, however, the size fits the space nicely.

While the space is outdoors; I truly wanted it to have an indoor feel. What I loved about the inspiration pic the covered area is separate but seamlessly feels as part of the dining area. I’ve considered painting the gazebo white or black but willing to live with the natural color this year. Definitely will install a gutter system next year. Also, before the end of the year will have the landscape installed as well. I love the simplicity of the landscaping in the inspiration pic. Simplicity equals low maintenance.

Patio and Gazebo Install

This project started with the design plan. During my consultation with Mike with MAC Landscaping; I discussed with him my vision and he created the 3D virtual design. We used the same materials as the last project. I wanted the new side to feel as though it was always there. The patio was installed with pavers from Unilock . The materials used to create the new 250 sqft patio:

Paver #1: Unilock Beacon Hill Smooth (granite)

Paver #2: Unilock Hollandstone Premier (charcoal)

Paver #3: Unilock Unilock Brussels Block (limestone, standard)

Gazebo: Meridian 12 ft. x 12 ft. Premium Cedar, Privacy Wall, and Bar Counter

Mike and his team completed this project in about 1 week; from beginning to end. The patio install was about 3 days. The footings needed at least 24 hours to cure, then they began to lay the pavers. Once the pavers were installed they installed the gazebo in 2 days. You can see the project coming to life above. I am so pleased with the results. Mike and his team were very professional and cleaned up when they were finished. If you’re in the Metro Detroit area and need landscape or patio design; give Mike a call.

Now it’s time to style the gazebo for it’s reveal. Stay tuned!
